So today I started the 17 Day Diet. I am kind of excited about this and hope that it helps me learn to eat better in the long run.
My day started off by my alarm clock going off at 7:00am. I immediately got up and weighed myself in at 202.8 lbs and my belly just below my bellybutton (not waist) measured 41 inches.
Then I went downstairs to make my hot lemon water, got back in bed to drink it. When I was finished with that I made breakfast, which was an Egg White Veggie Frittata (recipe in book), yogurt with sugar-free jam and blueberries, and hot green tea with Truvia.
For a snack I had an apple and, of course, a bottle of water.
Lunchtime rolled around and I had cooked some of the Chicken Vegetable Soup (I left out the chicken) last night, so I had that, some fresh cleansing vegetables, and iced green tea with Truvia.
For my second snack I had yogurt with sugar-free jam and a bottle of water.
For dinner I had Taco Salad (recipe in book), fresh cleansing vegetables, and iced green tea with Truvia.
So I did well all day for my first day. I did catch myself a couple of times starting to go for some "unapproved" foods, such as marshmallows, a candy cane, chocolate, etc. Most of these things have been eliminated from my household however. I didn't really crave a whole lot all day, but toward the end of the night I started to crave something sweet. It was miserable, but I read on some forums that the sweet tooth cravings will go away about day 4 or 5 as the body gets used to not having its blood sugar spiking up requiring continued bursts of insulin...our poor pancreases. I did have a small glass of milk a little before bed to try to curve the craving. It didn't really help.
